Stroller Shopping

One size may not fit all
"The average child will use a stroller for three-and-a-half to four years," says Judd. "It isn't always realistic to think one stroller will fit all your needs."
- Most people need two strollers-a multi-purpose one and an umbrella stroller. To limit buying additional
strollers, ask yourself if your multipurpose stroller will fit all your needs.
- Avid runners may want a jogging stroller.
- If you're planning on having more than one child, the Phil and Ted's (Sport model seen here in apple) easily converts to a double stroller. If your children will be a little more spread out when it comes to age, you can look for a stroller that will fit a footboard attachment, such as the Bugaboo.
- An adjustable carriage position gives you options. "Most new parents want their infant facing them," says Judd. Check to see whether the stroller will fit a car seat and how many sitting positions there are. "A newborn should lay fat when they travel for ultimate development of the spinal cord and digestive system."
