A Few Recipes to Get you Started
The Seven-Day Total Cleanse advocates drinking color-coded juices to ensure you get all the nutrients your body needs to cleanse, renew and refresh. If you’re thinking of trying a detox, here are three recipes to get you started.
Red Juice
A great start to any cleanse.
5 carrots
1 medium beet
1 medium parsnip
1-inch piece of gingerroot
1 lemon, juice only
Pinch of sea salt
Push vegetables and gingerroot through a juicer or blender and stir in lemon juice and salt.
Green Juice
Boost your heart health.
1 cup chopped collard greens
½ cup kale
½ cup dandelion greens
½ cup beet greens
3 stalks celery
3 green apples
1 lemon, peeled
1-inch piece of gingerroot
Put greens through juicer, followed by celery, apples, lemon and gingerroot. Mix and enjoy.
Blue Juice
Calm yourself.
3 stalks celery
1 small lemon, peeled
1 small grapefruit, peeled
1-inch piece of gingerroot
1 pint blueberries
Put celery, lemon, grapefruit and ginger through juicer. Combine juice mixture with blueberries in a blender.
