Sleep Tight for Mother's Day
If you’re looking for a unique and powerful Mother’s Day gift why not donate a crib (or a portion of a crib) in her name? Hope for Children has launched their Sleep Tight campaign just in time for Mother’s Day.
In 2012, 48 infants died in Ontario because of unsafe sleeping conditions. “Too many parents are forced to put their infant to sleep overnight in a playpen or stroller because it’s cheaper,” says Jennifer Miles, a nurse with the Catholic Children’s Aids Society. Hope for Children wants to give low-income families another option and provide a safe sleep environment for all children.
“Just $400 will buy a new crib and can save a life,” says Miles. Any donation counts. Even $25 will pay for a sleep sac. The goal is to raise $50,000 for new cribs across the province.
