Tummy Time for Babies

Making tummy time easier for your baby
Place your child on a firm, padded surface, such as an infant mattress, foam play mat, or a blanket on the floor. Firm, comfortable surfaces will make it easier for her to push up. Put mirrors, toys and other objects in front of your baby to encourage her to look up and eventually reach for them.
Try placing a small, rolled up towel under your baby’s chest and shoulder area to offer stability and allow her to lift higher up so she can see more, making tummy time more exciting. If your baby is really reluctant, you can try placing her belly down on your own tummy. “She’ll want to push up to see your face,” says Lesak.
