Is Your Baby Gaining Enough Weight?

Is Your Baby Gaining Enough Weight?

When should you worry about your baby’s weight?

Your pediatrician will express concern if adequate weight gain is not occurring, which is why doctors see babies pretty frequently in the first few months. We plot linear growth, weight gain and brain growth (via head circumference) to make sure your baby is gaining adequately in all parameters.

In the first few weeks of a baby’s life, if there are frequent bowel movements and the baby is content for two to three hours after feeding, we can presume she is getting enough to maintain satiety and growth.
