Kids Aren’t Moving Enough

Children should have a minimum of 60 minutes of intermittent physical activity throughout the day. If you’ve ever watched a child run, play tag or chase their friends or pet this doesn’t seem hard to accomplish – by nature children love to move.

However, according to a 2012 study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, just 30 percent of school-age children attend a school where they are offered daily physical education. The majority of kids do not engage in any form of planned physical activity during the school week.

While sports today can seem overwhelming, it’s important to focus on the important thing – get your kids moving. It keeps them healthier, happier and smarter.
