Choose the Best Shoes for your Baby

The Best Baby Shoes
The sole is the most important part of your baby’s footwear. Leather soles are best for soft-soled shoes because they most closely resemble barefoot walking and are breathable. Breathable cotton is also okay. “Avoid plastic materials because they don’t bend or breathe,” says Edgeworth.
Once your child is walking and ready for a more stabile shoe, choose one with a flexible rubber sole. Bend the sole to make sure it is flexible in the right areas. “The shoe should bend at the ball of the foot, not just in the middle,” says Edgeworth.
Your baby’s shoe should also have all rounded edges to prevent tripping and no high ankle support. “The ankle should be able to move naturally,” says Edgeworth. Studies show that high ankle support leads to injury.
