Baby Constipation

When Does Constipation Usually Occur in Babies and Children?
Although the majority of constipation occurs gradually over time, there are some very predictable times in a child’s life when parents are more likely to notice constipation becoming a problem.
- During the introduction of solid foods (babies ages 4 to 6 months)
- When transitioning from breast milk or formula to cow’s milk
- During changes in normal routine, such as at the start of school or when traveling.
- While toilet training
- During acute illness, such as the flu, when your child might have vomiting, fever and dehydration.
