our promise to yourself may have been to get your pre-baby body back, or simply to lead a healthier lifestyle in 2012, but chances are you’ve already fallen off the fitness bandwagon. Most people fall short of their New Year's resolutions before the end of February, but that doesn't have to happen to you.

In most cases lack of planning is the biggest pitfall. All it takes is 10 minutes of fitness soul searching and you’ll be able to find the will to keep on track and get results that will finally pay off. Here's how:

Define your Fitness Goal

Be specific about what you want. Saying that you want to lose a certain number of pounds isn’t enough. Write down how you want to improve your fitness level, a specific strength goal or a specific body change. Give your goal an end date to keep yourself accountable.
